The software DeskProto

Deskproto is a CAM post processor of the company Delft Spline Systems.
Deskproto converts STL files from a 3D CAD program and with consideration of the cutter’s geometry into a CNC file for the KOSY CNC machine (other machines also possible). This function is also included in nccad but Deskproto is more powerful at complex 3D geometries and at calculation of the milling paths. Deskproto is a supplement to nccad for milling ambitious 3D geometries.

• large volume of data
• steep or vertical edges in the model
• milling with ball or conic cutters
• milling of several sides of a body
